Inquiry in education is a philosophy that the students bring valid questions and understandings with them to school. We need to incorporate these assets into our teaching and build from them to help the students expand their framework of the world.
Day 1
I have been trying to implement inquiry into my classroom this year and have finished one inquiry based unit. The students and I enjoyed the process. I have started a second and this seems to be going well but it is quite a bit more guided. I think learning about how to incorporate the arts into inquiry would be a big step for me.
It was interesting to see how much of a barrier technology can be for some people because they are unsure what to try when things don't work they way they think it should. It shows me that there is a lot of potential in the time I have been allowed to help people in my school use technology during the inquiry process.
